The text in the first panel is really something. It reminds the reader that Jodorowsky, the writer, is deeply iconoclastic, especially with regard to how the church presents its saints to the people. Of course, this approach is also apposite with regard to Manara, the artist, who has a reputation for drawing beautiful women.
