This article on JG Ballard is arranged in a format similar to Ballard’s Atrocity Exhibition and does a fairly good job of introducing the author to the readers of Heavy Metal. In truth, Ballard is a good fit with this publication – the post-apocalyptic themes ran hot and heavy in Heavy Metal during this period.

The illustration that accompanies the article is very strange, though. I like the half-tone dots on his head and sketched-in jacket, but I’m not sure why the pink triangle was necessary. It’s a very clear indicator that this was published in the 80s, really.
