This is the first issue with Grant Morrison as the Editor-in-Chief and also the first letter from the editor since September of 2010 – six years previously. Morrison goes on like this for two more pages. One of the things that these pages illustrate is that whoever is doing the layout didn’t account for the gutter – something that has plagued this publication in the past. Also worth noting is that the cover stock is noticeably heavier than the previous issue. Finally, almost all of the stories in this issue came from the solicitations pile. And, on that note, I’m pleasantly surprised at the quality of what got printed. If nothing else, Morrison can tell a good story from a poor one.
