This issue’s gallery section features plates from Richard Corben’s Flights into Fantasy, which is billed as a retrospective of early Richard Corben artwork. I loved this image the best – mostly because it shows characters actually wearing clothes. Mind you, they are in the snow, which is probably why a lot of Corben’s work for Heavy Metal is set in warm climates. The body dynamics are also really effective, as is the ice demon.
