Probably the most interesting thing about this story is the compelling visual of a small town floating across the sky, all the various buildings tied together physically to mirror the common cultural ties that make up the small town.
Note that the soldiers in the top left corner are starting to get grotesque through some not-quite-clear mechanism. This becomes relevant later in the story.
