One of the things that I really like about Vallejo is what he does here – leaving the bottom of the legs unfinished so that they blend into the ground. It’s obvious that he could have realistically rendered everything, so this is a deliberate choice and it’s very effective. The effect also foregrounds the excessively rendered back muscles of the woman closest to the viewer. On the whole, this is a great piece.
