Spacehunter was a largely forgettable movie that is mostly notable for the fact that a very young Molly Ringwald shows up as the waif Niki. This adaptation was written by Heavy Metal editor Julie Simmons-Lynch (her first credit in this publication as writer) and is clearly yet another advertising tie-in. The fact that the movie itself didn’t do very well proves that not every property Heavy Metal got behind was hit material.
