Post-apocalyptic stories were all over Heavy Metal in the 70s and 80s – especially nuclear holocaust stories. It was the height of the cold war and mutually assured destruction was always a good place to draw stories from. My favorite sub-genre of these stories are the ones where a specific year is mentioned. Even better when that year has already passed.
