This is a fascinating artifact showing off the shift in Heavy Metal’s production. These specials had been regularly published since 1992 – when Kevin Eastman first took over publishing duties – and at the end of 2011 they’re just gone. The irony is that if they’d made it one more year, it would have been a twenty year tradition.
