At the end of the story, we switch to this story thread – the rampaging woman coming to destroy Lady Bathory. The way this page is composed is designed to provide the maximum possible contrast between the appearance of the combatants. Bathory is the idealized woman – pale, thin, beautiful, relaxing in blood. Her enemy’s weight is used to make her appear more grotesque and she’s covered in blood that she spilled in her rampage.
