I happen to know that portions of this website have not changed significantly since 2011, which makes me wonder what new and interesting things were going on in 2014 to prompt this ad.

Frankly, advertising your own website (in 2014!) feels very weird, unless the intention was to fill advertising space that could not otherwise be sold.
