A bit of history: in 1985, Verve (part of Polygram) released VU, a collection of unreleased songs by the Velvet Underground. Larry Sloman went out to Austin to interview Sterling Morrison, one of the members of Velvet Underground, to talk about the new material. The title of the piece is a nod to two of the songs on the new album – Lisa Says and Stephanie Says.

The interview is interesting to Velvet Underground fans who know the names of anyone that wasn’t Lou Reed. The best bit is Morrison holding forth the opinion that Lou Reed just wanted to be Bob Dylan.
