The Bus works best when there is almost no text on the page at all. The Marxist interpretation of public transportation is entertaining, but it almost seems like something from an entirely different strip.

At the bottom of the page, you can see something that Heavy Metal’s been doing for the past few issues – a separate page that tells people what’s been going on in each ongoing serial so they’re not completely lost. In previous years, Heavy Metal added a caption box to the first page of the strip for this purpose, but now they’re just flat-out eating up space elsewhere in the magazine.
