One of the most interesting details of this strip are the tiny arrows and lines that you can see on the right side of the bottom panel, indicating the direction that the fists and swords are moving in. It’s a very small detail and appears throughout the story, but it gives an almost diagrammatic aspect to the story – “this is how things would move if we were not limited by the format.”

Having said that, I completely fail to see how this story could be presented in anything but a comic format. Take those creatures in the bottom panel, for example. They are three-breasted, one-armed, four-footed hermaphrodites.They are not the most unusual creatures to be found in the story, just the ones with the most breasts and least number of arms.
