Hugo Pratt’s Corto Maltese makes the first (and last) appearance in the pages of Heavy Metal. Pratt was so good with his blacks that it’s a pity to see his work in color. Also note that this scene is a witch trying to hypnotize these two, whose response is “yeah, that’s not going to work on us,” which is pretty entertaining.
