When I first heard about the high concept of this story, I thought it was so over the top as to be functionally ridiculous. I did not realize that the framing story was Hitler and Goering coming up with the story. Honestly, that makes the whole thing funnier. It’s also very much Morrison’s take on Norman Spinrad’s The Iron Dream.
