One of the more entertaining retrospective comics in this anniversary issue is McKie’s So Beautiful, So Dangerous, which purports to tell the readers what his characters are doing these days, ten years later.

The best part (aside from the Arzach cameo in the last panel, where the characters are at the Heavy Metal Anniversary Party) is that the green alien explains that these people are actually comics characters – which freaked out galactic leaders, until they understood that nobody on Earth takes comics seriously.
