This is strange, interesting and novel – Heavy Metal provided several pages of higher quality, almost cardstock, glossy paper that had body parts printed on them that could be cut and constructed into a papercraft “Reader Eater,” complete with a tiny paper Heavy Metal reader (wearing a Heavy Metal t-shirt, just in case it was unclear what he was reading). I wonder how many people intentionally destroyed their anniversary issues so they could build this? The magazine is perfect bound, so scanning and/or copying the pages would have been a serious effort and it was probably easier to just pull the pages out.
