So Heavy Metal decided to create an app and put it on the Apple and Google app stores. But not just any app, they created an AR app. That is, an app that you point at specific items and you get to see something on your screen triggered by the page you’re looking at. It’s actually kind of a neat concept, even if it does highlight the fact that a lot of Heavy Metal creators seem to wish they were actually animators instead of comic book creators.

In this issue, the app only works with pages made by this guy – a comic earlier in the issue and this gallery section. The app is still available on the Apple store and works with digital pages like these. I have no idea how you’re meant to make it work if you’re looking at this on your phone, though. Try finding a laptop for the next few days, it’s worth your effort.
