This is a crazy little story. The high concept is that a bunch of corporate capitalists living on an asteroid with sex androids has decided that they want the natural resources that are hiding in the desert on Earth. Most of the nomads who live in this desert have moved on to different places, but this group of nomads is being obstinate, so the corporate capitalists drop an asteroid on them. No, really.

It’s not that the actions of the corporate capitalists are unbelievable – many people have done far worse for far less profit – it’s just that I’m having trouble believing that there are natural resources in the desert that are worth killing for. But hey, I’m not the one living in an asteroid with sex androids, so what do I know?

This page depicts the incoming asteroid and I love the shadow of the village’s imminent demise in the second panel. The sound effect is pretty cool, too.
