This feels like a very light piece by Torres, but I think that’s mostly just the very bright colors on the page and the fact that the lead character is a man with a pterodactyl head (which nobody mentions). The bright colors really do a good job of conveying exactly how much light there is in the small Caribbean islands during the day – it’s a bright place.

The ending of the story is actually pretty heavy – our hero stops the henchmen and seals the leader in papier-mache onto a float that he knows will be burned at the end of the parade.

Something to note on this page – our hero orders a glass of wine in the third panel, but on the next panel he has a glass of beer. Continuity error? A way of indicating that time had passed and we skipped over the bit where he changed drinks? Who can say?
