A bit of explanation is probably in order here. Former Heavy Metal editor Lou Stathis wrote the first original Heavy Metal graphic novel in ten years in 1989, Interzone. This little supplement in the magazine is a tongue-in-cheek guide to the Interzone. These three ads are from the last page of the guide and really highlight the wackiness of the setting. They are also very much cultural mashups, decades before that was really even a thing.
