Despite the fact that Kuper has been a regular contributor to Heavy Metal for some years by this point, this story feels very odd for this publication. It’s an illustrated travelogue of the time he and his wife went to Africa to see gorillas. It’s a neat story, well told, with some interesting creative choices throughout, but it felt like something I would find on a table at SPX than something in the back of an old issue of Heavy Metal.
