As of this issue, the price of Heavy Metal went up to $13.99, up from $9.99 – a price that only lasted six issues. This attempt to go monthly lasted eight months. Also, at about this time, Heavy Metal switch fulfillment companies and started failing to deliver subscriptions to customers. This situation only got rectified at the very end of December 2021 (as I write this, in fact). One of the themes of Heavy Metal during this period is the sales of all the other cool content – podcasts, spin-off comics, short stories and pinball machines – but they lost track of their central purpose. When you publish Heavy Metal, you have one job – get the magazines to the customers.
