There’s something great about foreign-language comics that incorporate sound effects as full panels. Especially when those sound effects are not translated along with the text in the word balloons. It’s a long-running conversation among comics theorists. Based mostly on this page, I find myself in the camp of “don’t translate them” because that adds to the weirdness.
