A whole week of DeadMoon. Hold on to your hats. The reason you’re getting so much of this story is that this issue had three stories and a gallery in it. And the biggest story, by far, was The Waters of DeadMoon. You have to hand it to the Heavy Metal team – when they found a story that resonated with the readers, they went all-in.

From a story perspective, you don’t really need to read all of the words to understand that the two guys in the top tier just took advantage of the butcher’s daughter (who he has been hiring out as a prostitute pretty much forever). The first panel in the second tier cements the implication. It’s a good use of sequence to tell the story. And then you get the cliffhanger that makes you want to turn the page.
