The entire story is told through the point of view of a nebbish house-husband whose wife and child have gone off to the beach for a week’s vacation. What’s interesting is that the POV character has a very vibrant inner life, which is reflected in the panels as an alternate reality. The panels in brown are the POV character imagining that he’s a hardboiled detective, while the panels in blue are the reality of the dive bar he’s gone to. It’s a good use of color to differentiate the realities depicted on the page.
