In the last paragraph on this page, there’s a mention of Heavy Metal’s one-off humor magazine called Soft Wood. It’s marketed like it’s not a one-off, though. I’m not entirely sure why they couldn’t have released it as an issue of Heavy Metal – this magazine’s readership could probably handle a full-throated parody. It feels more like the editorial staff wasn’t sure they could get away with it.
