This is the first story in what was clearly intended to be an episodic storyline. Why Heavy Metal chose to run it as one full story is beyond me, because it doesn’t quite hang together as a collected story until the very end. The transitions in particular are not very good at all.

All the episodes are set in a bar called The Zoo, which has a nice double meaning because all of the episodes are about supernatural animals.

In this first episode, there is a woman in a fur coat who makes a scene in the bar and leaves her coat behind. The title character grabs the coat and has an intense hallucinogenic episode. I really liked the last panel on the page, where the shadow of the obviously naked woman is running down a hill towards something we can’t quite see.
