This is the long feature of this issue – about a young woman who becomes the living incarnation of a very old seductress spirit. This scene occurs before that young woman comes into her power, when she runs down to the overseer’s house to show him her doll, only to discover that he’s an adult with adult tastes. The two panels that bookend the last tier are that young woman encountering that cognitive dissonance.

The art is really well done in this story and it does a good job of being sexual without showing anything graphic. But there’s no question about what’s going on in that second tier.
