Are you ready for a week of Rogue Trooper? Of course you are.

This isn’t the original Rogue Trooper as originally drawn by Dave Gibbons, but a new storyline written by Dave Gibbons. Originally serialized in 2000AD between 1989 and 1990, Heavy Metal collected all three parts of the story and printed them in this one special issue.

It’s an interesting enough story – all about how the grunts are screwed by the people who create the wars as profit centers. But the art is what’s interesting here. Simpson does some very interesting things – like how the assembled troops fade off into roughly hewn lines as the eye goes further back into the crowd. It’s a very nice effect.
