This strip is about the lifecycle of the sea turtle, specifically the part where they crawl up onto the beach to lay their eggs. Of course, this being Boucq, this overlaps with beaches full of human tourists, who are put to sleep so they can be crawled over by the turtles. And then the turtles lay their eggs in the tourist bags, looking just like ping pong balls – one of the more grotesque images Boucq has illustrated (and that’s saying a lot).
