Longtime readers of this blog will recognize the rather obvious additional word balloon in the second panel as a covering for sexual activity. Specifically, fellatio interruptus. What’s not obvious from this page is the gender of the fellator. As it turns out – very much later in the story – that person is male, which makes the depiction of the fellatee somewhat problematic in that he’s very stereotyped as a gay dandy.
