The sequence in the middle of the page actually reminds me more of P. Craig Russell than Moebius – something about the cartoonyness of the long shots.
The troop of naked women with swords requires a little context. The woman who runs the installation that our hero has infiltrated is served hand and foot by these women, who are referred to as Klownes in the text. But what they really are is clones (cue reader going “ooooh”).
There are several action sequences in this story (and this is one of them) where the fact that they are naked is highlighted by them performing high kicks without any kind of embarrassment or self-awareness. In many ways, this is the perfect story for a special issue highlighting pin-ups is what I’m saying.
