One of the worst things about this period of Heavy Metal is how bad the production values are. The art in this entire feature is stretched all the way to the edge of the page, which leaves very little room – as you can see from how tightly the page numbers in the bottom left corner are pressed to the art. Even worse, the dialog in several places is printed right in the crease of the perfect binding, which makes it difficult to read.

The production values weren’t responsible for the way the text in the giant word balloon in the middle of the page is printed in reverse going down to the left, a major storytelling issue. That could have been done better.

I do like the design of the orange suit, though – especially how it’s drawn with white outlines and not black.
