Lots to unpack here. First, it’s obvious that Medney thinks of himself as an epic space opera writer and has discounted the advice to not try to go epic your first time at bat. No problem, it’s his magazine and he can do whatever he wants. But the story isn’t that compelling. Worse, it’s about a guy who does a giant catastrophic thing without checking to make sure that there is nobody in the area and accidentally kills the crew of a ship in the process. And he takes a personal call in the middle of his negligent actions. Is he the hero or the villain? Do I care?

Second, I hate almost everything about the depiction of this woman. It was very clearly drawn by a man without a solid understanding of how female anatomy works. Why is she walking through an industrial environment with half her protection missing? Why are her panties showing if she’s wearing a belt? Why does she have an hourglass figure with breasts that large? And where is the rest of the torso that would serve as support for her breasts? She should have a belly at the very least.
