This special issue seems to be optimized to support a massive advertising supplement for Fantagraphics. The trade dress for Heavy Metal exists, but barely. The contents page (for example) is the first page in the issue, which is very unusual. The other major difference is the complete lack of page numbers throughout – which is hilarious, considering that page numbers are indicated on the contents page.
