This is a forgettable little piece about a writer who has a pair of shutters in his apartment that he keeps padlocked shut. In the middle of the night, his landlady pounds on the door from the other side and is rescued from a deep ocean, where she is being persecuted by mermaids. Trust me, my description is more interesting than the actual story.

This page is interesting because of the use of negative space, especially the lower tier. I especially like the reveal of the cigarettes in the penultimate panel.
