A comic about race and hatred in the deep South between the wars. It’s got an uplifting message and some tense moments. And it’s got the last panel on this page, where the implied presence of the KKK is personified. It’s one of the things that comics can do really well – make the implicit explicit. Putting the hoods in the reflection is quite well done.
