The first issue of Heavy Metal was cover dated April 1977. This issue of Heavy Metal – March 1997 – marks 20 years of publication. (There’s an official 20th Anniversary Special published later in 1997 that I’ll get to eventually, as well.)

This means, in theory, that I have gotten halfway through the Heavy Metal re-read. Go me.

Now I just have to read the back issues faster than they can publish new ones and I’ll be done in 6 or 7 years.
