This Milo Manara comic is full of the usual tropes, but what makes it a visual delight is the greyscale washes throughout. Here, at the end, we see two of Manara’s friends (middle tier, top page) – Hugo Pratt and Federico Fellini. On the bottom page, the man drawing on the wall renders Pratt’s Corto Maltese (middle tier) and some of Fellini’s cartoons. It’s a clever little double reference that’s worth noting.
