This story starts out as a pretty straightforward stagecoach robbery. Then our hero discovers that the people who are robbing him are the super-uptight man who he humiliated in the saloon a few stories ago. They go through a series of actions to ratchet up the tension in the scene, where they give the hero the impression that they are going to kill him. And then we get to this page, where we discover that forcing one man to rape the other made them fall in love. Which is played for laughs, but still works as a solid ending.
