For those of you who enjoy getting a glimpse into the editorial process, I direct  your attention to the response in the dead center of the page. Eastman lays out that he chooses the story based on the visual impact “first” (not sure why the quotes are there, but sure), then to bother with the translation and let the narrative chips fall where they may. This puts a lot of the past few years of the publication into much clearer focus, to be honest.
