This story is a longer piece by Altuna and has almost none of the humor that his shorter, more formulaic pieces are wrapped around. This scene in particular is really the only place where Cat (the title character) is physically assaulted in the entire story. Coming at such an early stage in the story, it’s set up to act as the catalyst for the self-confident sexual journey that this young woman goes through.

It is very noteworthy that this story doesn’t have more sexual assault, considering that she’s a young white woman walking around a large city with no underwear on.
