The backup material for the first installment in this series indicates that Frezzato had originally designed the story for animation, and it shows. This last page of the series is a prime example. The sound effect and debris indicate that something has changed about the tower – an “after” shot. However, it would have been more effective if there had been a “before” shot to contrast against this. As an animation, this could be done in a single shot. Not so much in comics. It is unlikely that a casual reader would know what this tower looked like before the change. Especially since the change is so relatively subtle.
