This is a really interesting ad. Of course Crumb would theorhetically appeal to readers of Heavy Metal. More interesting, though, is the fact that the name of the publisher (Fantagraphics) isn’t mentioned at all. In fact, the ordering instructions give the Heavy Metal street address in New York City as the place to send orders and money. This isn’t new, of course – this has been standard practice for decades.
